Cleaning your castors
To clean your castors, you will need:
• Tweezers
• A vacuum cleaner
• Surface cleaner or a damp cloth
• Spray-on grease.
Handy hint: when cleaning your castors be sure to place a sheet or lining underneath to catch the loose debris.
Step 1: Turn your equipment, trolley or chair on its side / upside down and use tweezers to remove any large or tough debris from the wheel
Step 2: Clean the circumference of your wheel with a surface cleaner or damp cloth.
Step 3: Focus on the castor. Use a vacuum and your tweezers to get rid of any dust and debris which may have become lodged between the wheel and the castor
Step 4: Apply some spray-on grease to loosen up rusty or dirty kingpins
Step 5: By now, you should have your castors looking good as new! But it is always a good idea to keep your working environment clear and tidy to minimise the chance of debris and dirt getting into the castor and wheel in future.
