What are levelling castors and where can I use them?

Choosing the right castor can depend on a number of factors, like your flooring, the equipment it will be used with and your equipment’s overall purpose. If you’re looking for a castor that will allow your surface or equipment to remain perfectly level, but still have mobility, there’s no better option than a levelling castor.

Choosing the right castor can depend on a number of factors, like your flooring, the equipment it will be used with and your equipment’s overall purpose.

If you’re looking for a castor that will allow your surface or equipment to remain perfectly level, but still have mobility, there’s no better option than a levelling castor.

What is a levelling castor?
Whilst a regular castor may hold your furniture or equipment in place on uneven surfaces, the equipment itself will still be slanted. A levelling castor allows you to adjust the height of each individual wheel, creating a level surface that you can work with.

Our Footmaster levelling castors are perfect for heavy duty weights, such as large appliances, machines, equipment or furniture. They’re stable, durable, easy to install and can move easily when necessary.

Where can I use levelling castors?
Levelling castors are perfect for almost any equipment or furniture. Here are some popular situations in which you might use them:

• Medical lab equipment
• Kitchen islands
• Pool tables
• Shelving
• Tables
• Delicate high tech equipment
• Vending machines
• Shop equipment
• Frames for control panels, switchboards, and lightweight computers

For particularly heavy loads we also have a wide range of heavy duty jacking castors, which allow you to safely elevate your workspace with ease.

Where can I find out more?
Levelling castors were created to help you keep your equipment and furniture stabilised, level, and mobile.

We are currently in the process of developing a range of hydraulic and electric height adjustment legs, which can be used as an alternative to levelling castors. Keep an eye on our blog and social media for more information on these.
