from -40° to +280°. The most common issue which occurs due to these extreme temperatures is ‘thermal shock’ this is when the caster wheels are exposed to rapid changes in temperatures an example is a bakery rack being moved from a walk in freezer then put into an oven.

“Every bakery unique as different trolley types, load bearing, shift patterns, floor types and levels of maintenance which can have a high impact on a high temperature wheel. However those who are on 24 hour productions change their wheels every 3 months.”

What practices can you take to prolong the life of your high temperature wheels? 

“Ensure your wheels are visually checked and greased regularly and avoid uneven surfaces especially grates to maintain the integrity of the wheels.”
