So it was no surprise to us when we received an order for some of our twin-wheel castors to be used at the ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ premiere in Bath, on December 15, 2017.
The call came from UK R2 Builder’s Club member, Paul Felski, who was looking for the specialised wheels for his life-size, fully operational replica of the Star Wars robot, R2D2. Paul explains, “After spending nine years building a fully automated robot, I realised I would need a practical and safe way of moving the droid around to save damaging the legs and undoing all my hard work.”
Looking for a UK based supplier, Paul found Ross Handling via an internet search. Paul remarked: “Ross were one of the only UK suppliers who held the castor I needed. The wheels arrived quickly, looked perfect and the Ross team were very helpful. I have already passed their details onto my R2 Builder friends for their own projects.”
Paul will be exhibiting his fully functioning R2D2 robot at the ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ premiere in Bath, where it will no doubt brush shoulders with storm troopers, x-wing pilots and various other Star Wars favourites on the red carpet. We can’t wait to see the pictures!
