It can become expensive replacing the chair every time you have a broken office chair wheel, which is exactly the reason why that’s a thing of the past! Chair castors are so simple and inexpensive to replace, so we’ve made this little guide just to show you how easy it is…
Firstly a couple of factors to consider when selecting your office chair replacement wheels:
Right fit measure your current castors stem and wheel andensure your new castor matches in size.
Flooring when selecting your desk chair wheels ensure they are the right material for your flooring. The general rule is for hard flooring (wooden, laminate) use a soft wheel and for soft flooring (carpet) use a hard wheel. We offer both plastic and rubber casters for office chairs so no matter your flooring we’ve got you covered.
Now a step by step guide on how to replace your castors…
Turn your office chair over so you have access to the wheels.
Pull the stem out of its socket, if it’s stuck try using a regular screwdriver to pry the stem out of its socket.
As the stem starts to back out, lay the screwdriver sideways in the widening gap, and pry both ways against the socket edge.
Install the new caster into the socket, and push it in as far as possible.
Test the balance of the chair and apply oil on the wheels if necessary. Ensure the chair is sturdy and stable enough before use.
